Fire Tower Resupply

Postby CHUCK79 » Fri Apr 26, 2013 12:03 pm

Yesterday I inspected a couple of fire towers in the Mt. Baker National Forest.
Fire Tower Inspections
Today I'm bringing some supplies and equipment to Three Fingers Fire Tower near Darrington, WA.
First trip's slingload is a diesel generator to supply the lookout cab with electricity.

Hooking up and hauling sling-loads in FSX is one of the hardest things you can do (in the sim) in my opinion. Very challenging.

While I love the Bell 205 that I used yesterday.......the Bell 412 is much more suited for this job.

Hooked up and headed for the hills. Watch out for that lightpole.

Three Fingers Fire Tower is at 7000' ASL and the terrain is very steep. Climbing........

Still climbing......really havin' to beat the air to maintain lift with the added weight and high altitude.

Thanks 4 looking :D

Thanks :D

To find the towers I just used the FSX map and looked where I thought they'd be. Their ICAO codes start with X....that'll narrow it down a lot O0
