Yes Hagar, i've thought about mention that. Thank you.

This line in your link shows what a great bass player he was

"Cropper once said Dunn’s playing was unique because he played what he thought should be there to fill any gaps in the music, adding his riffs weren’t “locked in somebody’s schoolbook somewhere.”

Both Hagar, both ;)

I love fishing, mostly trouts tho, but any fish that gives a good fight i hunt, and bass sure can.

Back then i loved to play the bass and were pretty good on it, i got told :oops: . "I got rhythm"! Heard that lots of time when dancing :oops:. I like to be one of the holder on that, and the bass is sure a rhythm instrument!

Due to this, i couldn't find a more plausible name when joining SimV.

RIP Donald "Duck" Dunn.

Here he's getting a little bit tired, (notice the bent longfinger on his right hand in the start), BUT he still can fill in the bass when needed!!
My favorite bass player.....

John Entwhistle.

Re: Fozzer's remark re: Entwhistle: My ex-bass player from 40 years ago (wow, that's a stretch), who, early on even, had the ability to listen to a tune once, maybe twice, and figure out the bass lines, once told me that in his opinion, John Entwhistle was the best bass player on the scene, period. His opinion was absolute, that is, not based on any liking or disliking of the Who (actually, he wasn't a big Who fan).

I personally cannot judge bass players, so I can't render any opinion as to who was the best, etc., aside from saying that I always assumed that bass players in big name groups were always very competent.

The trouble with me...

....is that I cant help playing; "Lead Guitar", on the Bass Guitar...

..and you are not supposed to!... :roll: ...!

You are only supposed to play a simple, rhythmic, "Bass Pattern"...

..and not try and be too clever...(like me!)... :lol: ...!

Paul.... :mrgreen: ...!

I get carried away, in a world of my own, playing musical instruments....Its wonderful!.... :lol: ...!

Who was the guy that played bass with Ian Dury and the blockheads? The bass run on "Hit me with your rhythm stick" is one of the best in my opinion.

Zaphod.

Edit;
Answering my own question, Norman Watt-Roy.
Great Bass guitarist.

And then of coarse there's Mark King;
