...the funny thing is...
I've never had an overwhelming yearning to; "go abroad", from England.
The only time I have ever been outside of Great Britain was when conscripted into Army Service, in Germany, in 1955, for two years....
..not a very pleasant experience!
Living near the Welsh Border, any of my trips outside of England have just involved popping over there, aggravating the Welsh on my Motor bikes, (most of them are English anyway, with Welsh accents!), and then back again!
I've been more than satisfied with gentle touring around Britain with its wonderful countryside!
...and the folks mostly speak "English", with various local accents...(they ALL used to speak "English" many years ago, I remember!)...

The English Channel mostly gets in the way of driving to Europe, (unless you own an amphibious motor vehicle)....and air travel abroad has become a more and more unpleasant experience as each year passes....(far too many folks with the same object in mind!).
There are lots and lots of quiet Sunday afternoon motor-bike rides around my lovely county, with its glorious countryside, in differing Seasons of the year.
...and I don't get closely involved with; "other Folks"...which is always nice!....

Since the introduction of the domestic Flight Simulators since 1995; Flight Unlimited II, etc, and Microsoft FS '98 onwards, I have enjoyed the daily, free travel to any part of the World I wish to visit, observing the scenery, (with the aid of the latest Google Satellite maps), and obtaining all the local information via Wikipedia!
...all this from the comfort of my arm-chair...with no stress, or additional expense, involved!
Each day involves a fresh visit to wonderful places of interest...cup of Tea and a Bacon sandwich, in hand....
