LFMN Nice Airport invisible wall at threshold

Postby Ant87 » Tue Apr 02, 2013 1:26 pm

Hi,

Everytime I land at LFMN I crash into an invisible wall at the end of the runway, the flight stops and says 'crash'.

I have uninstalled FSX totally and reinstalled and it still does it, I have even changed the scenery to a freeware release and it has the same problem.

Can anybody help or have any idea what is going on??

Thanks

I recommend to disable crash detection. It hurts a bit, to loose this point of reality, but there are too many problems like this I guess to loose time with it. Maybe a building or another object has wrong crash radius. Fixing this would need experience in airport and/or object design. You know yourself, when you crash. I also want to tell you, it is hardly never necessary to completely reinstall FSX. It costs a lot of time an is almost never the problem. Going back the last steps, a new scenery, the last stored flight, is most probably causing the problem.

Cheers for the reply! :)
I reinstalled a while ago when I did a full reboot in my system not because of this issue. I had this problem a long time ago so I just stopped flying there n forgot about it then today I flew there and hit a wall. If I turn off crash detection as the aircraft passes the point it drops instantly to the deck so go from 50ft to 0ft instantly so that doesn't really solve the problem either :S it's a strange issue tbh never seen it before in my 10+ years of flight simming. Also the ils for lfmn is located about 100ft out over the sea so that's totally wrong to. I guess I just won't fly there any more no biggie.

Thanks for the help :)

Maybe we can help to solve the problem, if you explain what scenery you use there, default or some addon?

Hi,

I'm guessing you have addon scenery or corrupt scenery.
Tried on mine which is default scenery and no collisions, it even lets me taxi through the wire perimeter fence.

regards

Steve

with full realism on that is.

I use Nice/Cote d'Azur - LFMN - France by Ray Smith dated 10th of November 2009. This works fine.

It first happened with default scenery. I then added a freeware addon to see if it solved it and it had no effect.

For general scenery in the area I use; REX, GEX europe and UTX europe.

REX and GEX are only texture replacements, UTX has no LFMN airport. It only has airport files, if the roads, rivers and coastlines needs a repositioning of an airport. Maybe there is still another file for LFMN. You can search with windows tools within the whole fsx directory or with this tool
