In the aircraft.cfg change these lines

[General]
...
...
atc_type=
atc_model=
...

to

[General]
...
...
atc_type=crusader
atc_model=F-8J
...

Then ATC will call you crusader

<<q

If you add the respective numbers to atc_id, it will be called crusader 207 e.g.

To make it carrier ready also add these lines after the tailhook section

[launch_assistance]
launch_bar_pivot = 15.4, 0.0, -2.17
launch_bar_lug = 15.8, 0.0, -2.23

I didn't check the values, but it seems to work for the crusader.

@striker

Thanks adding the link. I decided it's enough for uploading the files but forgot to update the forum. I love that plane too, since I was a little boy on tried on a plastic scale model of it.

Yes try it. Maybe you have to adjust the coordinates. Just check how the nosewheel connects to the sledge.

Great!

I made some carrier tracks, which you can use. http://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1&keywords=off+washington&x=-1320&y=-150
Have a look at my video on Youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaXOaNDbdfo

Just install as described in the documentation an get Javier Fernandez great Nimitz carrier.

Another way is using AICarriers, which allows you to set up a carrier group in front of you instantly. This may be easier for you, since the ocean is very big an finding a carrier group is a bit tricky. You have to be on the right place on the right time.
You can find AICarriers2 directly if you follow the links from my track to the Nimitz and theres the link to AICarriers2

This is difficult to estimate from here without the files. Maybe there has been a problem before you insertet the catapult sections. How does the aircraft on the deck without. I'd look at the points section.
For help consider this document here http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc526949.aspx
Maybe the values for the attach point do not match the front wheel coordinates.

Hope that helps to solve the problem. FSX gives allways new problems to solve. I just found out installation of an addon had disabled elevation data for the Cote d'Azur area. I uninstallled unproperly the addon an therefore the file remained disabled. I took me hours to find out why the cable car was going in the air instead of to a mountain. :geek:

Is there a Gauge perhaps that shows Ship traffic kinda like the "radar gauge" that shows aircraft. so finding a fleet in the ocean .... the reason i ask is i flew from a carrier to KNUW but upon returning to where the carrier should be even compinsating for ship movement i couldnt find the ship again....

Hi
You could use FSX Google Earth Tracker available from http://fsxget.codeplex.com/. This shows not only your aircrafts position, but also the ones from ships. If you import the route files (*.kml) you see where I sent the ships along and you can easily identify the carrier group. But it only shows AI traffic around you, since the other fsx obviously doesn't calculate.
With a little training you will get better in assuming where the ships are. Dan
