Wonderful shots Bass and thanks for taking the time to do that...
I do very little simulated flying with turbines and jet aircraft as my aviation career was spent on single, dual and multi-engine radials...
I did put some time in the Locheed T-33 and flew in but not checked out on the AVRO CF-100 (now there was a jet).
Have flown in many turbine aircraft and commercial jets from the right seat as a courtesy by the Captain of the aircraft or a son/daughter who all are aviators and yes they have a love of Radial Engines just like dad.
We do have several children who do fly Rotary Aircraft along with Fixed Wing but they take after the Old Girl and not me...
I used to do what is called "Moonlighting" ( Work a second job, usually after hours) when not doing Scheduled Flights on what then was called the Heavies.
Most of the part time flying was done on the DeHavilland DHC-3 "Otter" on floats, wheel/skis or as an amphibian. No one has built an aircraft to replace the single engine Otter either radial or turbine and they are the best Bush/Utility Aircraft flying today.
There is talk of putting them back into production.
I hear and read here how aviation was not like it used to be. Does not pay well and is very hard to get into.
Not sure about that as our children all make six digits, they have just as much fun as I did when flying and I/we believe you only get out what you put into something and flying is no different.
So Bass that is why I would like to see a DeHavilland of Canada DHC-3 Radial Engine Otter for FSX or whatever Flight Simulator comes next. It was my favorite steed along with the Noorduyn Norseman.
Oh, and I never ever did get checked out in the DeHavilland of Canada DHC-2 Beaver although I flew it from the right seat as a courtesy by the Captain of the aircraft many times...
Well Bass, need to get up to the bugsmasher field to drink some green wobbly pop as it is St. Patrick's Day.
Sorry to get so dang winded again...it happens when you are an Old Retired Rocking Chair Flying Geezer you know...
