Can't get FSX-SP 1 to install

Postby Gringo6 » Tue Mar 05, 2013 3:34 pm

I've downloaded SP 1 and now I'm trying to install it. I go through all the procedure and it looks like SP1 is installing when all of a sudden it stops and I get an error message to the effect that the "installation did not complete successfully" and that I need to contact customer support at microsoft.

I know that nobody else has this problem ( since I pioneer every problem that exsts) but where do I go from here ? If M/S no longer supports SP 1 who do I contact ?

I have installed the Deluxe Edition of FSX.

The operating system is Vista (Yeah, I know Vista is probably a part of the problem)

I used to have Acceleration installed too, but my humble machine didn't have enough muscle to run it properly so I did an un-install in the proper order, and just left FSX off for several months, using FS9 for my flying. Then a month so ago I wanted FSX back, so I re-installed it and it worked normally. Now I want to install the uss_macon.zip but when I did it didn't appear properly and the model file seems corrupted. I know the file is ok because it worked when I had acceleration installed. So I decided to install SP1 with the hope tht the macon would display correctly with only SP1 installed.

Comments anyone !

If i were you, i would certently try acc again, and then make a clean FSX startup without any other programs running, and maybe lower some demanding settings inside the game.
My 2c.
