I just created a VERY long tour for you guys with over 120 unique destinations! Shane's going to be really angry when he has to create this one!  ;D

Don't expect this tour for quite a few weeks yet, but when it is up, you guys are going to be busy for quite a while.

For this one I basically browsed the FS map for a while, noted the types of terrain in the region, and picked airports that are in or near the interesting terrain.

I also made sure to cover some famous destinations as well, such as the Denali region of Alaska.

I tried to make a lot of the routes in Alaska challenging this time!
Quite a few of the airfields are either in the mountains, or you have to cross mountains to get to them. I did this without any regard to addon scenery, and based it purely on what the FS map was showing me. I didn't even test fly any routes so the level of challenge will be a surprise for all of us.
I think you guys are going to have a lot of fun with this one, especially when trying to get into some of these airfields that are tucked into the valleys, even in good weather. Of course, in this region, real world weather is almost a requirement!

Cool process. I love how the server keeps track of your progress for you and tells you where to go next. This is a lot of fun in multiplayer. Paul and I have been working on it over the weekends.

Glad you're enjoying it! The New Zealand South Island tour is pretty short due to the general lack of airfields on the island, but it's nice. Just counted it up, and there are 14 unique airfields for that one. (Unique first departure field, with 13 unique destinations.)

For the Pacific Northwest one, I gave Shane the route in terms of airfield names only, and unless he wants me to do it for him, he'll have to look up the airport codes for implementation into the server this time.
It's kind of an insurance policy to make sure that I don't have any extra scenery that I don't know about that may not be default and not in the game, and so he can verify the locations and route and isn't blindly typing the codes in. This ensures that we get a fully working, feasible route with no accidental hoplist entries referencing airfields thousands of miles away due to a typo.

Once again, do not expect the Pacific Northwest tour to be ready to go in the server for quite a while yet, due to the workload involved in implementing it. Creating the route before server implementation is only half the battle.

The South Island part of the tour has been added.

To connect it with the North Island tour, required a rather long (260nm) flight from Auckland to Wellington.  Not too bad if you're taking a jet, but it will take you a little while in a small prop.  ;)

Thanks again to Sean for putting this all together.  :)

I got my Mate to ferry my Beech Baron 58 from Auckland to Wellington...(He gets his Avgas for free).... ;)....!

.....cant we just pop from Wellington (North Island), over the water, to South Island....save a 260 Mile North Island trip?... ::)...!

Paul...G-BPLF...FS 2004...Impatient... ;D...!

Did the journey tonight from Auckland to Wellington in a F86.
Took well over 1/2 hour at 430 Knots (Max), flying at 5,000 feet ASL over some of the most mind numbing, ever-repeating Tile scenery in the history of North Island!... :o... ;D...!
(Not part of the official Hop).

Sorry Paul, It was the only way to keep it connected, without having to redo the whole trip in reverse.  ;)

Gave you plenty of time to cook supper I imagine.  ;D  ;)

OMG that Auckland to Wellington (hop 19) was HORRIBLE!!!!! I was running FSPassengers and ended up having to just abort the flight and then use the map and slew to get close to the airport.
