Multiplayer connection

I'm having trouble connecting to multiplayer sessions. When I try to connect it says connecting for a while but the it says network response time out and never connects. Any thing I should know before connecting? Any help would be great.

Carter,

Are you using fs2004 or FSX?

What server are you trying to connect to?

What is your systems setup (ie- modem, cable, dsl, etc.)?
