One of the (many) reasons that I dumped my copy of FSX when it was first released, was their insistence on using Gamespy, as the Online, Multiplayer Flight Sim Server....
...much too complicated, annoying, and restrictive for my liking...

...!
Continuing to use FS 2004 with Sam's Sim V Server* (FS Host) gives me absolutely no problems at all with getting on line in seconds...
....and remaining on line...

...!
I still have my copy of FSX (somewhere), but because so many of the Pilots here, and on the other Sites I fly on, mostly use FS 2004 for Multiplayer Flights (using FS Host), I shall continue to use FS 2004 for the foreseeable future...

...!
Some of the FS 2004 Scenery may not be quite as "beautiful" as FSX Scenery, but at least I can run the program with all my settings "flat-out", with no connection problems...

...!
For any disappointed new-comers running FSX, and suffering poor performance on their "low-end" computer, whether using single flights, or Multiplayer on-line flights, pop out to your local Game Store and try out a copy of FS 2004...going for bargain prices now...

...!
It really is worth a try, if you really are getting frustrated with your present set-up...

...!
..at least you can get on-line and have some trouble-free fun with other Flyers...

...!
I fly on-line every day so it is important for me not to have any connection problems!
Just make sure that if you are using one of the dreaded "Router" thingies, just make sure that you have opened all the necessary Ports!
Paul...G-BPLF...FS 2004...FS Navigator....Win XP.... NO Router...and NO problems!
