Do'nt loose heart Jimbo, start it & people will come to have a look, if not hrs long trips I will have a go.
From A to B, economical Jet flt.planning is made so that TOC is at a FL that coincides with TOD (or with shortest cruise possible), reaching a height in the first waypoint of STARS & land at B.
p.e. If A to B is 200nm, climb to a FL that covers 100nm, close the throttles & descent to reach the first STAR alt, say 5000', covering 75nm (height to loose 25th.ft x3=75), leaving 25nm for approach & land at B.
Pressurised jets descend at 3-4000fpm.
These calculations were taken out of performance graphs in the flt.manual before each flight by the crew, but nowadays Ops hands you a hard copy of the computerised flt.plan, which in turn you bring up in the FMS by keying the icao codes of A & B !.
Let's have a go.

Management skills........?
I take one look at the instrument panel, etc, on a large, Commercial, Passenger jet; switch the 'Puter off, and go shopping instead......!
(I cannot imagine landing one of "those things" in a local Farmers private grass air strip!)......!
Whether I could manage a small Cessna Citation jet, or not, for the Tour, I don't know....
...perhaps I could try...MMmmmm........?
It all comes down to the recommended speed for the Hop, as to which aircraft would be suitable?......!!
I don't think my Trusty Beech Baron will keep up with a 747 Jumbo...Bugger!......!
LOL...!
Paul... 8-)...!
(I hate bleedin' Commercial Jets! They are too fast, too high, and they don't enjoy the amazing scenery down below)....LOL......!
