with the previous attempts of formation aero's it sure would be, would have to arrange a time to practice though lol
What if we made a "theme" to the airshow?? i dont know exactly how it would work though.
Though the idea of static aircraft will be too much of a problem. Causes extreme FPS hits for those flying, so you just see a dot jumping across the sky... doing what it shouldn't be, because the pilot is working with 4fps!This is precisely the reason we want anyone spectating, to be sitting in a low poly aircraft, being used by everyone, to reduce any framerate/server lag issues. E.g. the default Schweizer.
Just a thought... why not have people turn up to the airshow as themselves?
As they say in the classics, here's one I made earlier:
It's just a simple transparent cube with a CGI character quickly textured onto it. This one uses 6 polys, I could do it on a flat polygon and only use 2 polys! I know there's a technique for making the poly always face the viewer, so no other textures are needed.
People could take photos of themselves (dressed up as if attending an airshow) and we could paste them onto polys and actually let them walk around the airfield. A SimV rogues gallery!
Does that sound reasonable?

Edit: Ah, I think that bit about polys always facing the viewer is only for static items. People walking around would be different. But even a front/back textured character would be worth trying.
ill try to be in it, but i dont think i can stay for the whole thing, so can i be near the 1st? Ill be in kirks f-16
Hi Guys.
Formation can be fun.....as with all shows, can be good IF you have the same planes loaded.
Just to whet your appetite, I have added a screenshot of me flying the VC10, after a refuelling exercise, and the fighters are formating on me. This was all done at a VA called Raf Virtual, where you are trained to fly like this.....imagine this flypast at the airshow.......

...But I only like fast jets...
