No Enemy bullet sounds in CFS3

Whenever I'm online in CFS3, I cannot hear anybody elses weapons firing.  Its especially annoying when I'm getting hit. and I cant tell unless I look at the messages at the top of my screen.  I prefer to concentrate my visuals on flying instead of looking at damage messages.

I have a Soundblaster Audigy 2, and logitech z-640 5.1 surround sound speakers.  I also have the 3.1 update.
