Courchevel (LFLJ) 18.5% Sloped Runway!

Postby Bobby343 » Thu Jul 13, 2006 4:22 am

Recently the designers at http://www.FSTopGun.net produced a design that toped all others. LFLJ Courchevel, France with an amzing 18.5* runway! A must have edition to your flight sim library!

LFLJ designed by Delivery Guy was produced to a standerd that only those with money could have, BUT of course he made it FREE and is available here http://www.fstopgun.net/downloadsp4.html.

This airport was re made for your enjoyment please consider donating to his hard work at the site, to ensure that he can continue his outstanding work!

FS Top Gun is also a free online multiplayer server for FS2002 & FS2004 and no doubt FSX when it comes out. Teamspeak and Game IP is FSTopGun.org.

Thanks for your time,

I have just downloaded and Tried Courchevel and I have to admit, there are many things that need improving on. Firstly, when coming into land at the lower side of the runway, aircraft seem to just 'pass through' the runway suface and into a gap below, also the 'Le Pilatus' restaurant is missing, there is also a horrible grey area at the bottom of the slope which i believe is meant to be Courchevel 1850. The Ski-lift that is represented is highly innacurate, as the lift does not finish next to the airport, nor does it hold the markings 'La Tania'. In the airport select option in FS, the airport name has 'made by...' or something to that effect. I have never downloaded an airport with this, nor do i believe any airport has this as a feature. It is just something that appears as very un-professional.

The airport is of high quality, however, it is very innacurate. I may be being over zelous as I know Courchevel very well, and have flown in many times, aswell as having many skiing holidays there.

Also another thing to note, the Un-installer also takes away the default Courchevel.

Please do not take this post as over critism, I praise anyone who devotes time, effort and money into producing addons for the Flightsim world, without people like this, FS would be a much more boring place. If these changes are made to the scenery, it will be going right back into my sim, until that time unfortuantly I will not be flying from Courchevel.

Regards
Alex
