Hi Jake!
Come and join Livewire. It is a brilliant virtual airline and some of the guys there will happily train you and it is not half as formal as Vatsim. We are in need of controllers at any time - your services would be greatly appreciated.

PM me if you wish. :)

I dont know about vatsim, but IVAO bosses will snap your head off if you give a plane a wrong vector......I mean yeah I like learning to fly the way you are supposed to, but they way they act there are REAL PEOPLE on those Sim planes, they take everything way too seriously...........

You're going to get bad controllers in sim life, as you would real life.  The only thing you can do is try your best and then write it off as their having a bad day.  Don't sweat it.  Most controllers are cool, but even in sim life they've got a tough job.  Not because safety and lives are at risk, but because they're trying to keep everything relatively civil despite the legions of idiots who log on every day for the sole purpose of being disruptive.
Great edit, Bob.

ATC to me is as important as the aircraft itself and about 1 yr ago I joined VATSIM ::)...it was a bad choice in my mind...I love what they offer and how realistic it is...but when I went to go for my first flight I could not even log in.... :(..they give you to many passwords...I then joined Frontier Airlines and had fun there but I always wanted to get online and be vectored around and stuff like the real world...they gave me soem help on how to login and everything....pretty much VATSIM is just to confusing which many otheres I have spoken with have said the same

VATSIM was confusing for me at first becuase my firewall was blocking everything so I couldn't connect.

But the controllers (at least in Oz) where nice and helped me, and now that I am a controller myself, I try to be nice to all the aircraft that come into my airspace.  Even the ones that think they're right and I'm wrong.  Like the one that crossed an active runway without permission...
