The 'site map' is part of the old system. The 'new system' is a completely new site & we bent over backwards to find a way to make it all work!
If your method to check new files was to check on the site map - then if you click into the new system any new pages are also listed at the top of each page.
If a new page is created it is then listed at the top of each page in that section - exactly the same as the site map but not dependent on my manual editing & therefore my errors.
We had to move to a dynamic system - the old static system was becoming cumbersome,very dated and offered a fraction of the features and future possibilities.
