Member Ratings

Postby jb2_86_uk » Mon Jul 17, 2006 3:46 pm

I was just curious about how the member ratings are achieved?

Am I right in thinking resident is following 500 posts? Is there a level between resident and my current rating?

All the best

JB

I think the number of posts required for each rating should be upped. Tenfold. :)

And how much berating should there be? ;)
Perhaps some more appropriate ratings names as well as more ratings. Maybe by military-style promotions; then we can be court-martialed, as well.
;D ???
Please note, however, that I don't like the possibility that increasing the post requirement can increase the posts-just-for-post count-sake syndrome.

I'm not a huge fan of the levels. Younger people may post for the rank and think it is a status symbol. Upping it would bring more tripe to the forums. ::)

I do like the post count though and like to know my figure. I'm not interested in anyone elses mind you.

Well, On the Alpha Bravo site (plug, plug, plug :P)

This is the way we do the Ranks.

Rank: New Guy- 0 posts

Rank: Apprentice- 50 posts

Rank: Cadet- 100 posts

Rank: Officer- 200 posts

Rank: Bravo Pilot- 300 posts

Rank: Alpha Pilot- 400 posts

Rank: Captain- 500 posts

Rank: Master- 650 posts

Rank: Overlord- 800 posts

Rank: Supreme General- 1,000 posts

Of course, for SimV you would want to increase the number of posts needed since it is a much bigger and more active forum. Maybe by two.

nay, i say it's fine, mabye add a 1,000 post count mark, but thats it. not to mention it's not worth changing at the moment because we'll be switching to a PHP forum.

but yeah, lol it would be nice to have 2 post counts, posts that matter, and others that ae useless :P

Too much obsessing over post counts.
I say we should take 'em out back and shoot them!
