It's not the forum that does it, because i have been on SimV from alot of computers, and never saw a pop up...

Maybe it's some spyware?

well kinda link pop ups. becuase in the link code they must have put target=_blank  which creates a new window when you click on a link. well i think it is that, but certainly something similar to that code.

it is just soo annoying clicking on a link then getting another window popup

nononono not ads! i have a popupblocker and although i do gets ads, this isnt about the ads, cos the ads pay for the site. im talking about when you click on a link on the SimV free site (dunno about the payware bit) it creates a new window

I by-pass the opening screen of Sim V by "Bookmarking" the "Sim V Main Page" only....
I click on the bookmarked entry and go straight to the Main page and select the various options from there... ;)...!

Paul....!

Open the Main Page and Bookmark it... ;)...!

I rarely type addresses in the address bar to gain acces to my favourite sites.
I always open the page of the site I am interested in and then "Bookmark" it.
So for a particular site, I can go direct to the site's "Forum Page" without having to trawl through the whole site to find it....  ;)...!

The beauty of "Bookmarking"... ;D...!

In Start/Settings/Folder options...select "Open each folder in the same window"....;)...!

Paul...!

P.S. This will stop you from having overlaping, multiple windows open at the same time...!

Or you could use a browser that has 'tabbed' browsing like Netscape or Maxthon (the one I use). No overlapping windows, multiple windows remain open (tabbed) for easy access.

Crash ;)

I'd agree. Tabbed browsing rules!! I don't know how I lived without tabs. They make browsing so much easier.
Another browser you can try that is tabbed is Kmeleon-

You know, I have a pop-up blocker (Norton and Google) and I still ocassionally get a pop-up.  Not something to get in a fuss about, but it still makes me kinda wonder what the hell is going on, especially when the dern things start TALKING TO ME!!! :P
