Simon I'm moving the post back now. We've never had this problem of a plane with disk on a magazine before.... I think we mods need to sort this out for next months contest! In the meanwhile I can't fault your entry and good luck ;)

Just my thoughts...
Well.. since you have to PAY for the magazine, it would be considered as payware..

But the other argument could be that the disk comes "free" with the magazine. And it isn't the full AH Corsair just a special for this magazine.
Knotty but we mods will resolve the issue... that is why we get all the grey hairs 'cos of making these important executive decisions!

Not necessarily.

Remember that PC Pilot Magazine also offers 100% freeware on its CDs - after having properly received permission from the appropriate desighners/builders.  An excellent example of this is the collection of Rick Piper's Vickers prop airliners.

The difference, and this is a particularly interesting point, is that Rick's models are available as 100% free downloadable models from sites such as Simviation, etc.  By placing them on a CD, the magazine is providing a service to many readers who many not necessarily be interested in downloading stuff (or very wary of doing such) and at the same time showcasing the freeware builders' offerings.

I will confess that many of the PC Pilot magazines that I purchase are based on the freeware downloads offered (yes, I am frequently too lazy to download the latest and greatest)...

The case of the AH Corsair, as offered in the CD, is a borderline situation.  It is a commercial product, offered in a "shared medium", that is, you have to buy the magazine to get it, and which is intended to entice the user to purchase the full version as well as other products from the company.

Consider that you can get modelling programs in CDs from certain computer graphics magazines, some of which are full featured earlier versions  (TrueSpace 4.3, for example), feature limited versions (Maya PLE), or even time-limited versions (3DSMAx8) of commercial prodcuts.  That doesn't make them "free".

True.. But you must remember, that you cant buy PCPilot in for example Denmark.. so that would mean that the UK members has an advantage over other members that arent from the UK.

Just my thought...

The mods have reach a concensus of sorts. We'll allow your entry to stay in ;)
However from next month there'll be a change that only planes you can download here at SimV will be allowed. We want to keep the playing field as level as possible :)
