Mods...When Deleting Pictures...

Is it nessesary to just remove them entirely, and post:

'IMAGES REMOVED DUE TO NOT BEING WITHIN FORUM GUIDELINES!
Please read the Guidelines for posting Images here at Simviation!
THANK YOU!'

Couldnt you remove the image tags or something, so the links are still there. Its kinda annoying when there are threads with comments like 'thats the best edit i've ever seen' etc, but the picture has been removed.

I assume the reason is to act as a detterent, but people don't intentionally upload pictures against the guidelines so it wont have any effect on it, will it?

I agree. This should only be done with repeat offenders.

When it is the 47th one that day your patience begins to run a tad thin. Especially as 99 times out of 100 it is a repeat offender who just DOESN'T listen ::)
Our job is tough already, please cut us a wee bit of slack, we're only human and we're doing the best we can :-*

Couldnt you remove the image tags or something, so the links are still there.

Couldn't the person who is not uploading correctly read the guidelines. I feel since we are constantly monitoring this stuff, if somebody has a linked or similar thing, that by inserting that, they will probably not do it again as if we just remove the tags, people can still click on the link.
Sorry but I feel that inserting that is a nice way of saying, [i]"If you don't want your images removed and this ugly insert posted in your post, then follow the rules

I find that most of the time when we remove images they are generally posted by new members. When they see that their post has been modified without any explination they get very confused/irritated and we get more complaints.
Sincerely,

I think the message is clear enough .......... follow the rules and we don't get ugly and put ugly messages in your posts, under avatars  and in your signatures. Most of the offenders are long term members of the forums who should know better !! The newer members usually catch on fairly quickly.

Special mention goes to Waspiflab this week as yesterday I removed his avatar 'cos it was linked from photobucket. Today he HAD (grammar point) another image linked from photobucket. A resident should know better....
