So what's the game like? Worth the price? My friends say it's pretty good.

No dought its a good game, a great game ill say but I did not buy it. They hype of this game was EXTREMELY overrated and I dont even think its the best game out there.

If you liked Modern Warfare then buy it, I wasnt that big of a fan of Modern Warfare so I didnt buy this game. Ive played it though and its a pretty good game. Ill probably end up getting it as a gift or what not just not gunna use my money to buy this game ;D

I'm just getting through the campaign so far.

Compared to the last Modern Warfare, I'd say this is much harder. It is much more interactive, huge amount of weapons, and overall I think it is quite good so far. I am just waiting on finding an L85 in game and then it will all be complete.

Edit: I've just completed it. I wouldn't say it is the most amazing game in the world. The AI is pretty tricky I'd say, but there are a lot of surprises and neat things along the story line. I think you'd like it. It is unpredictable and the weaponry is great fun  :D

Beat the campaign in about 7 hours. Definitely a fun game, now tackling some of the special ops missions. I like when you take control of the Predator drone and shoot and guide missles from it. Some amazing graphics in the entire game.
My specs... A hard drive, motherboard, graphics card, some memory, a keyboard, mouse, and monitor - in other words, nothing special.

The campaign is kind of confusing and hard to believe, but is still really fun. The multiplayer is great.

The campaign was interesting, and had a few unexpected suprises. Parts of the plot line were a little far fetched, but it was still fun.

The multiplayer is different. I can kick ass in the first MW, but suck in MW2... ::)

Getting used to the idea of no more dedicated servers. There are some cool weapons, but I am disapointed that there seem to be few weapons that were in the original MW2. Some of them are a little unrealistic. Running around with a M240B, and shooting it like an M-4 carbine....? I think not.... ;D

I'll get the game when it reaches $20 AUD. God I hate being poor.

How hard is the learning curve. I want to get it but do not want to be discouraged if it is too much to learn. Can I load it up and start playing or do I need to learn all the features in the "training" segments?

If you played the first one, it should be simple to just start playing. If not, the first mission in the campaign will give you the basics.

The training segment is very brief. It is a weapons tutorial (you are assuming the role of the person demonstrating it to the other recruits). You pick up the weapon, shoot from the hip, shoot down the sights. Then you throw a grenade. After that you go through a sort of testing area (it can be done in roughly 30 seconds, by the way) and that is it. So the training is about 4-5 minutes long depending on how quick you are. It probably isn't even that long anyway. And after that, you are onto the missions.

I'd say the controls are quite easy, but I've been playing Call of Duty for years. It is the usual first person shooter drill - Duck, hide, run, shoot, kill. It is pretty straight forward.

In terms of difficulty, I would say this CoD is the hardest so far. On Hardened (the third hardest difficulty) on previous Call of Dutys, you could pretty much run through. I did the game on Regular (second hardest) and even then I was dying a good few times. So try it on an easier setting if you are pretty new to it.

Exactly. The controls are what seem to be the 'norm' for all modern shooters, having a familiar layout. I wouldn't say its the hardest CoD to date, but everyones different. There are definatley going to be sticking points on the veteran setting play through. But the good news is... you can stick it on easy and have fun.

Seriously, 10 minutes from load up, you'll be playing like a pro.
