A desert

Postby Ospreyluvr » Tue May 12, 2009 10:07 pm

I have recently FINALLY started to get good at 3D modeling. It's only taken 1 year and 4 different programs ;). I know this is something different, but I want some opinions from a non-3D community ;).

Wow that is very nice. Which software did you use?

Maybe might've been a bit better to have subdivided those lumpy bits on the ground... They just seem a bit stabby going up. But yeah, it does look very nice indeed. First project or one of many?

Looks like it would've taken a while to render!

I use 3DS Max 2009. Yeah, I just noticed those lumps. Gotta fix those!

It is my first personal inspiration project. It took roughly 30 minutes to render using V-ray 1.5.

Nice picture.

Have you tried terragen for rendering landscapes? I used it when I tried to make a scenery for the condor soaring sim and found it pretty good.
