You can convert both FS9 and FSX scenery :)

Hi John

Could you explain in a little more detail on how this is done. Is it a fairly simple process? If you can get XPlane looking this good I'm really thinking about getting it.  These really look great.

You use a freeware program called fs2xplane....basically you run the scenery package thru the program and thats it....Some scenery doesnt convert properly but for the most part it works....

Hi John

Well I jumped off the fence today and bought X-Plane9. Got the last copy that Frys Electronics had for $39.99. I hear that it's going back up to the old price.

Im interested to see what you think, my initial advice would be to look at it with an open mind the graphical interface is way different then FSX .  Once you get your controls setup right that is when you will see the beauty of the sim.  After that you will be stuck with the weather engine :P, personally I can look past it.  A new release is coming soon 9.30, hopefully they made more graphic enhancements.

Another concern of mine was the lack of really nice aircraft in the freeware department, there is a good amount but it doesnt compare to MSFS.  Im learning Blender at the moment and I want to start to design...thats a long way off though ;D....
