oh and btw GRID is awesome, if you like racing games then this sir is for you, really good fun, a few duff game modes like the ones that are all about drifting but they have to try and please everyone unfortunatly :( but i would really recomend this game!

cheers

I thought the F1 type cars werent in the game due to licensing...

I played the demo and it was a bit 50/50. Lovely graphics but the crash damage can sometimes extrude through objects that it shouldnt (bit of the bonnet sticking through the glass) and things like that. On multiplayer it keeps showing damage on other cars, or things like the window net being a few metres infront of the car before anything has happened. The demo also doesn't require any braking to manouver.

It looks great, but I just hope that those issues are fixed by the time I buy it.

Unfortunatly this is the company that now have the F1 license.
They have already stated they are going to market it to the mass rather than the core fans, who are the only ones who'll buy it no matter how its made. So in the end we will have as is now common from the company, a game that looks good, but delivers driving physics that are completely unrealistic.
And thus ruin the F1 gaming franchise.

It works for grid simply because its supposed to be an arcadey type game. But I cant help but feel that they've really dropped the ball since they made the first few Toca games which were brilliant.

you do have to break to turn, if you don't then genearly you hit something in front of you because you can't turn enough.

that said, the biggest thing i don't like about the game is how it tries to please everyone to those who liek racing to those who like drifting (weird)  races, and this does sometimes come across in the differant car classes, although each one is unique they are still quite similar :(

if you want a realistic racing game then go grab rFactor or GTR2 excellent titles :) and lots and lots of mods :P

right now the big title i'm awaiting is ferrari challenge next month.
It is supposed to be really good on all levels, and can be set for ultra realistic handling.
Plus it should in the end have every ferrari produced. My idea of an ideal game ;D

I've got the demo, it's fun.  I might buy this at some point when I buy my PS3.  Going to buy GTAIV and F1 Championship Edition first though...

Nice shots.

I've just unlocked the Global Tier on X360.

For the record, those are not F1 cars, they have Dallara (sp?) and F3.

Had the demo on 360 and didn't like it. Always felt like the cars were floating a few feet above the road, not actually on it.

Shots are great though!

P.S for those of you looking for a good F1 game, rFactor with the F1RFT mod - ultra realistic and updated each year.

Have to differ with you there, the RFT mod is the worst in terms of realism and physics, the cars are stuck to the road like glue, and thats with no assists.

CTDP and MMG make the better F1 mods for rFactor (both have new versions coming out very soon).

And I always spin even with no assists :P

Got it yesterday.

I LOVE destruction derby mode.

Especially when you ramp on crossover ramps or drive into oncoming traffic in crossover lanes.

Insane. Easy on the rig.

Best racing game in ages.
