If I'm right, CSS was produced with Half-Life 2, which came out in 2004....so we're looking at 4 years!

summer 04 actualy, half-life 2 came out a half year later.

... the CSS beta came out first... way before HL2 did, CSS was not offical released to everyone until the same day HL2 was released.
