Now you're thinking...

...With Portals!

Valve Portal

Developed by Valve and released on October 10th. The game is set in the 'Aperture Science' Laboratories in the Half Life universe as a competing organisation to the 'Black Mesa Research Facility'. You play as a test subject, putting the Aperture Science Hand-Held Portal Device through it's paces.  8-) To cut the long story short, this is a great game, despite being very short, (19 stages). Although there are additional challenges to complete after the main part of the game.

Basically, the aim is to get through the game by opening portals to get from A to B, retrieve boxes and disable turrets.

Some of the puzzles are very straightforward, while others can be quite challenging.

And if you're tired of solving puzzles, you can just have fun with the portals themselves. All I've done here is opened a portal on the ceiling and another on the floor so I'm continuously falling.

The playermodel is nice too!  :D Those things attatched to her lower legs are spring heels that allow the player to fall from any height without taking damage.

Attempting to take down a turret.

I wasn't expecting it, but all this runs pretty well on my system at medium settings. Overall, an enjoyable and unique game. Probably not everyone's cup of tea, but if you're at all interested by this point, buy it.  :)

Hope you enjoyed this, you're welcome to give your comments. Thanks for reading.  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
