Fairly certain fn+F11 will just lower the volume
Unless you have it set already to use the F# keys as F# keys and not the special function keys.

That's in OSX, this is Windows 7 on a partition
ndude, when I press fn+F11 with it set to do the special function and not the normal, that just presses F11, which in the case of say google chrome is full screen, so that's not it
Are you using an Apple keyboard? Try fn + shift + F11 http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1171
