"Okay, well, here are my favorites -- there were things I liked about every single shot, and I think any of them
deserved to win. In the end, I just went with what called out to me the most... but I wanted to congratulate
everyone on their great photos.

"If You See This... Run!"
This was a unique shot in its simplicity -- no stunning sunset, lightning, strong contrasts or shadows... and it
didn't even comply with the directions to have "cloud coverage between the plane and the ground." But, it won first
place because the clouds simply came to life -- they were as much a part of the primary subject (as much as the
plane) and I did not feel like the clouds were just backdrop. The clouds looked mean and boiling... as if they were
mopping up everything right behind the jet plane that swooped out from above the clouds.!!
In second place, Spectre177

"Into the Sun"
There were a few other great photos of planes right next to the cloud layer, but this really had a special place in
my heart... I could just feel the tranquil silence as this plane pierced the thick clouds, and as Spectre
mentioned, got a glimpse of the "warm" sun... but the clouds really "made" the shot. The sharpness of all the
textures, the way the light bounces off the plane, and the nice tail/wing lights that shine through the dark clouds
were all parts that I really appreciated! Great job!
In third, Eno

"A pilot enjoys the pure exhilaration of flight."
Just a terrific, photogenic shot. The clouds were beautiful, and as others have mentioned, it looked "like a
photo." The tilted perspective was really creative, and I especially liked the darkened sky!
Great job everyone! Thanks for the challenging opportunity!

Nice work on a great comp!
Judge Harold steps up to the bench next week! Congrats to him and the other finalists, and great job to all that
entered.

Cheers
