Screenshot Critique: Everything Learned

Postby a1 » Sat Aug 11, 2007 9:03 pm

Two shots. I tried to put everything I have learned into these shots.

Rip them and tell me what you think?

:o WOW! These are fantastic shots mate ... I really like them!

You have a very sharp aircraft (very cool model!) and your ground textures are also really good but if there is one thing that could be improved (slightly) it would be your clouds and fog layers. They are nice but they could be a little more defined, more 3D. The cloud shapes are good but to me they miss depth and color. They only seem to have some shades of white and clouds range from deep grey to bright white.

I don't want to advertise my own shots while commenting on your, but take a look here to see what I mean.

This plane is the TBM 700. One of my best planes in my hanger. ;) Thanks Harold. I tried to do everything I can about the clouds but i don't have any cloud addons ar anything to enhance them so that's the best I got. :D

Oh! Harold mentioned cloud and fog layers so I thought you must be editing using "layers"! Great captures, M8!  :)

He's obviously more of a graphics artist than a pilot ;D

One little tip from Soui then... To create more depth in these kind of settings press the - key once... It'll allow you to get a slightly more deep image. Can be done verey subtle:

Which are you, Harold? More of a pilot or more of a graphic artist? It's not obvious!  ;) ;D :)
