THE JULY SCREENSHOT CONTEST
This Month's Theme Is Centered Around...

"The Environment In Which You Fly"

Image
Image

This month is all about your
"Scenery"
We want to see shots of what your Sim looks like..
For this contest, you will need to come up with some interesting "points of view"and impressive scenery.
There is a ton of great freeware scenery addons out there, so let's see them!

FOR THIS CONTEST, YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO HAVE AN AIRCRAFT IN YOUR SHOT!
YOU CAN IF YOU CHOOSE, BUT WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IS A "SNAPSHOT" OF THE WORLD
IN WHICH YOU FLY! YOUR SHOT SHOULD EITHER BE OF BREATHTAKING SCENERY OR A
SHOT THAT ENVOKES A SENSE OF ENVIROMENT! IT IS TIME TO GET CREATIVE!

DETAILED RULES HERE

Please see example below...

And for those of you who do not think they can't produce a
shot that displays impressive scenery, sometimes less is more!

JUST TO CLARIFY!
WE ARE LOOKING FOR SCENERY SHOTS, NOT REALLY AIRCRAFT IN FLIGHT!
I MENTIONED THAT AIRCRAFT CAN BE IN THE SHOT BUT NOT THE CENTRAL FOCUS OF YOUR SHOT.
WE WANT TO SE SNAPSHOTS OF YOUR ENVIROMENT!!!
LOOK AT THE THREE EXAMPLES!
EVEN EASIER, CLICK ON MY "ALASKA EXPOSED" LINK BELOW!

This competition will be a bit different from the rest.
The focus is on scenery and environment.

Please people, I want to get this straight from the beginning, make believe you are a photographer on a photo assignment for National Geographic. Your mission is to rent a plane or fly your own and take some nice scenic shots!
Maybe that shot will be at some remote bush airfield with an aircraft or two in the shot, or maybe it will be high above some scenic mountain range at dusk with some interesting clouds!
Maybe it will be in the Winter with snow falling at dawn!
You are in control of your scenery and shot, the aircraft comes second (if included at all).

My advise, create a real nice environment or scenery and go into the 2d VC mode. Press "W" and remove all your panels. Now you have a clear shot through your lens of what you want to take!

Good Luck!!

I suppose you are right, but won't installing freeware photo scenery on top of the what I have mess things up?  :-/

Photo real will not mess anything up.
It will usually "overlay" itself on top of your payware scenery.
You can always go to your scenery library and turn the addon on or off.

I'm afraid you're not eligible for the comp this month... you joined too recently. You have to have been a member for at least a month before the comp starts.

What you could do is post your would-be entry in the freeware section, and title it something like 'what my entry would have been if I had been eligible' That way you get feedback, and there's always next month's contest.

And please read the rules before you enter next month. No wait ... even better: read them now so you'll understand next month.
So many people mess up their entry (and this contest) by not reading the rules ... it is really sad :(
