Help!...Fire!

Postby stuart1044 » Mon Apr 30, 2007 2:37 pm

I was wondering if anybody could explain how to produce flame effects, in editing software, photoshop for example? :-?

Here's one I flung together using the screenshot art tute ..... almost .... the thickness and none whispyness of the smoke in that tute makes it look cartooney . Don't use quite the opacity for either the smoke or flames.

I've actually found quite a good way of drawing smoke/contrails. Will try and make a little tutorial if you actually think it looks any good ;D

As I said when I did my shot ...... the screenart tute makes cartoonish looking smoke ....... far too dark and opaque reduce the opacity and it looks more realistic. Same for the flames.

The edits are not bad, but as Eno said the dark smoke could be better.... Cobra- those contrails look great! PLEASE could you post a tute?? I'd love to be able to make contrails like that... all my efforts have been laughable so far..

Would be my pleasure Krigl! Gotta gimme a few days though, exams rolling in fast so don't have a huge amount of spare time for this sorta stuff/want to do it properly for you guys. You can also do smoke in pretty much the same way, just a few differences...so hopefully will be a worthwhile post!

Will try and get it up soon though :)

I have no idea, i used it in last mays screenshot comp, and i don't have it no more.  Quite possibly it was off SimV.

You can get other carriers here

Yep, when you have time! To be honest, I thought you'd pasted the plane over another and the contrails were part of the background shot.....
