You've got a nice idea here, but the planes just don't fit.  They look like someone stuck them on :-X (I wonder why...:P).  I think it's the lighting...it doesn't blend.  Not sure really how you could fix it though...try darkening the planes.

I agree, with the sun in the back, where does the light illuminating the top of the planes come from?

I think the lighting matches pretty good. It's the colour that messes up the blending. Try making the P38s more yellow than white.

I think the lighting and overall compostion shows potential. I agree that the aircraft look placed and their attitude is unrealistic. One more thing, i'd probably want to leave out the UFO next time around.. ;)

Farvel, keep going in this intense, color rich  lighting direction. I honestly think you were really close to a phenomenal edit here.

I like the composition and background, but as was said, they look stuck on, the lighting's strange, their colour doesn't fit....

Better than my work though ::)

But this doesn't have to be the finished product, does it
