Text Wrapping

Postby Jakemaster » Sun Jan 21, 2007 10:28 am

Is there a way to do text wrapping in photoshop?  I had an idea a while ago for my sig which was to take my current picture and put text around it where all the blue is of some of my favorite aviation quotes or just a brief description of the DC-3.  I couldn't figure out a way to do it so I just put it on the back burner and forgot about it until now..

Im not to clever at photoshop, but how about just creating some more layers on top of the current shot and positioning the text accordingly :)

Yeh, theres not text wrap function (I dont think), but if you play around with multiple text boxes it can be done.

i think he means he wants to have text behind the plane.

and the only way to do that would be to, cut out the plane, have it on a new layer, and add the text you wnt in the layers behind it

Can you give us an example of what you actually want to do, Jake?

he wants the text to surround the plane, sort of like a frame around it. The only way would be to create four text boxes around it and lining them up. just muck around with them

What I want is imagine that all the blue was text, but not cut off or fragmented.

So you want the text to be behind the DC3? I'm not sure I understand yet. Can't you give us a pic for reference?

My best example would be for you to go to microsoft word, type a paragraph of random words, and insert a clip art in the middle, double click it, and under the layout tab select tight.  The text fills in any white space around the clipart.

Essentially the text is behind the plane, but none is actually covered up by it.

Maybe photoshop can do it, but I wouldn't know how... I think it's faster to do manually anyway... ;)

Photoshop doesent have the function just yet I believe. Well not one to make it simple.  Why dont you just cut out the DC-3 in PS then do the effect your wanting in word, it can wrap text around a pic just as your asking.
