i would just like to say this is a great addition to the forums :)

to quote a line from soui's post........
I often hear phrases like " I wish My sim looked like that or I wish my pc was as good as yours)

that's something we've all heard from time to time...but it doesn't always have to be the case,,a great shot can be taken no matter what kind of rig you have..iv'e seen countless shots from people with less than average systems which have been brilliant...
just relax and enjoy what your doing,,the more hung up and the harder you try the worse your shots will become...

some of my best shots imo have come about when all iv'e been doing is just simply flying for fun....

in other words(or sometimes) let the shots come to you...instead of trying so hard that your brain turns to bubbly fudge and you just end up with the mother of all headaches...and a bunch of crap shots :-X
this technique really works (depending on what your after) and can also lead to some great ideas too...

anyway i was trying something out earlier..i thought i would post a few shots with the intention of trying to capture a feeling of speed flying a few of my favourite modern fast jets...
so what i did was got rid of autogen and tweeked my settings way down then zoomed the aircraft out to about 400 then beamed it in again this leaves the background looking pretty blurred but the aircraft in focus,, and this is what i got...

Image

a simple idea with a pretty good effect i was rather pleased and really enjoyed doing it ;)
what i'm saying is my system specs were next to nil...proof that creative and decent shots can be taken without much computer power :)

the rest of the shots are posted in freeware if you want to take a peek when you have time..

the moral of this little tale is never give up,, you can't become a master screenshot expert overnight it takes a lot of practice and patience,,,,

wev'e all seen new members who join the forums and start posting shots..lets say good shots,,,
then six months down the line..great shots...then a few months later brilliant shots....and so on..
you get my drift....

so let your creative juices flow and most importantly.......have fun ;D
thanx for listening chaps....semi rant over :P

Superb sentiments Lemoncat. I think I fall into the bubbly fudge brain category more often than notthough. I can spend literally hours working on a single paused pic. Adding weather. lighting variables etc. But you know, I find the most enjoyable and satisfying pics are the ones that you're talking about. Get airborne, relax and snap away. The last two competition pics I've had a bit of success with were just like that. MP'ing with Mic and Cspyro, 30 seconds in the air and bingo, kind of seat of the pants stuff, but it really worked well.

Great advice here from one of our true screenart "Masters" Lemoncat.  :)
