It's all Fozzer's fault... Part 1

Postby Daube » Thu Aug 23, 2012 3:41 pm

Hi all,

Strange title ? Well, the fact is that Fozzer made that recent topic where he was cruizing above some very nice and peacefull scenery with his Cessna 150... In he past few weeks, I've had a nasty "warbird time", where I wouldn't really fly anything that some of these WWII gems we have in FSX.... and Fozzer has just given me back that "low and slow" fever.

Wonderful Shots.... [smiley=thumbsup.gif]...!

..in my favourite little aeroplane, for exploring the countryside at low level. One of the best little craft for the job!

I must admit that my greatest enjoyment of the Flight Sim(s) is exploring the scenery around me, at low level, in different parts of the World that I would never be able to visit in real life!

The USA Western Seaboard is my favourite area to explore, together with Google Street Maps, with its ever-changing terrain, and a surprise around every corner!

Paul...FS 2004+FS Nav, Cessna 150 Aerobat, Map and Compass...(..and a full Bendix-King Radio Stack just to be safe!).... ;)... ;D...!

P.S....watch those angry clouds!..Baby Cessna's don't take kindly to them!... ;)...!

NO daube, the clouds are also from Pablo Diaz,I told you about his HDE clouds and unless you installed something else over it...

Great shots still. ;)

I have been using Pablo's cloud, that is true. However, because they had quite an impact on the FPS, I also switched to one of the cumulus textures offered in FS Skyworld 2004, and that might still be the ones you see in these shots :)

Note that my cloud draw distance is currently set to 160 kms, which means the slider is set one crank after the half. With such a distance, my weather looks fantastic  8-) but the drawback is that I cannot afford to install 1024x1024 cloud textures, the impact on the FPS would be fatal. I have to stay with 512x512 textures, and I'm extremely happy with the results :)
