Fozzer, I perfectly understand what you said. FS9 is THE sim that got me out of the "military-only" simming experience. Before that, I used to fly on FS98 and CFS1, CFS2, and for all of these my main research efforts were for downloading military planes, mostly jets of course, to make loops in the sky.
Then FS9 appeared, and started to offer a landscape that was actually made to be explored. That changed everything. I would never have flown a Cessna before that. The freeware sceneries made by Holger Sandmann were just the "coup de grace" that got me hooked to the "low-and-slow" style

Then FSX came and it was still going in the same direction, so I followed it, as you can see
