Meyers 200D

Postby Flying Trucker » Fri Jul 20, 2012 2:49 pm

Good afternoon all... :)

Well I have a couple of problems and not sure what I am doing wrong.

Daube "Stephane" suggested these two aircraft by Tim Conrad, the Grumman AA-5B and the Meyers 200D.

The Grumman AA-5B would download but there were no instruments showing and no sound.
I tried several times and all I got was a shell of the aircraft.

The Meyers 200D I can not get the VORs to tune,

Sorry to hear about your problems, Doug. I think I have this the Meyeres 200 by Piglet......I'll look and see if everything works for me ;)

By the way, shot #2 is a winner 8-) 8-)

P.S. You can change the text in the lower left corner to whatever you'd like it to say. It's in the main BDSizer menu ;)

Doug. I assume you're talking about this file --> http://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1&keywords=aa5b_fsx.zip&categoryId=

To install the gauges paste the file named AA-5B.cab into your FSX Gauges folder.

The sound is aliased to the FSX default C172. This should work providing you haven't modified or deleted the C172.

Good afternoon all... :)

Ok Doug...got the Grumman up and running with one (1) instrument missing...top and near the middle of the instrument panel...

Now just checking this Meyers 200D again.

Still can not set the VOR OBS
The GPS top left of pilot does not come on
Hydraulic and Oil Temp Guages do not work

Any ideas anyone?.... :)

I just checked this out in FS Panel Studio. For the missing gauges in the AA-5B paste copies of DeHavilland_Beaver_DHC2.cab & Extra_XML.cab into your FSX\Gauges folder. You will find these files in the panel folders of the respective default aircraft.

The Meyers is missing one gauge named Grumman_Goose_G21A.cab. You can find this in the Panel folder of the FSX default Grumman Goose. Paste a copy of the file into FSX\Gauges. I don't know if it will fix your problem with the VOR. I think the GPS on the pilot's side is a dummy.

Hi Doug... :)

Guage is now in the panel of the Grumman AA-5B and works fine...thanks... :)

The Meyers 200D:
VOR OBS still missing the dial to tune the #2 unit
Hydraulic and Oil Temp Guages still do not work

I think you are right Doug about the GPS top left of pilot.

It is a nice aircraft, does anyone have any ideas on how to fix these above problems?
I am wondering if because it is a FS2004 aircraft brought over to FSX these problems can't be fixed.

According to the file description Piglet's Meyers 200D is an FSX native model so that wouldn't explain the problem. http://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1&keywords=+Meyers+200D&categoryId=54

Can you post a screenshot showing which gauges you're talking about.

Indeed the Meyers 200D is a FSX native aircraft, it never had any FS9 version before. And as you guessed, the GPS unit on the top left is fake ;)
Concerning the VOR adjustment, I believe this might be linked to a problem in the gauge declaration in the panel.cfg, I'll have to investigate about this.

Concerning the AA-5B, there are two versions. The first one was a FS9 version, but then came an upgrade that made it a real FSX native aircraft, not a port-over. It had a separate interior model, and self-shadows for example. I'm glad you sorted the gauge problem, I believe this should be described in the readme of that plane... Anyways, this is one of my favorite GA aircrafts. If I can find it again, I'll send you a link to a cool repaint for it (I don't like the default repaint on that one).

I checked the SimV library and it seems that the repaints I was mentionning have not been uploaded there :/

I could find them on flightsim.com however. There are in fact quite a few repaints for the AA-5B for FSX, and I recommend you those that were made by a certain "Edric Chew".

Too bad there are no repaints of the 200D. This plane has not been so popular for the repainters, I don't know why  :-/

Thanks Stephane...be good to be able to use the 2nd VOR.

Would also be nice to see proper readings on the other three guages which I shall post a shot of below... :)
