Leaving Kai Tak for Darwin

Postby Dave71K » Sun Dec 11, 2011 6:39 pm

I've decided to take the scenic route round the world, so rather than heading east from Hong Kong to Japan I'm going south to Australia.

Image

I downloaded REX Overdrive a few days ago and this is the first time I've seen the amazing water textures they added!

Breaking the cloud layer. I've been lucky and had Beautiful weather all the way so far!

It was dark by the time I arrived in Darwin.

You can't see here but I've ditched the 2 outer fuel tanks. I got my range calculation wrong and was going to be forced to land early when I suddenly realised I could drop two tanks and reduce my drag enough to give me the extra distance I needed. I was over the South China Sea at the time so didn't think anyone would really mind. ;)

Thanks for looking  :) Next I will be heading South to Uluru and on to Melbourne!

Great shots. For your next trip you should take a day trip to NZ.  ;)

I'm heading up to Wellington

Windy Wellington. You should set it to real world weather and see if you can land. When I went there once I almost got blown over. (In real life) ;D

These actually aren't edited at all it's just an addon scenery I found for Kai Tak and Rex Overdrive. A few in previous legs have been auto-leved. I would still say that those are acceptable in this forum as the theme is most definitely centered around my Flight Simulator Experience, and not about the editing.

The editing that I did in previous shots has not added to the image in for example the same way that Ziggy's amazing edits are enhanced, it's more a touch of make up to enhance what is already there rather than full blown plastic surgery.

After a closer look.......these don't appear edited. I just assumed you had done the same to these as some of your others ;)

The only issue I see is where to draw the line......if any editing is allowed then what type and how much?
If we let this one go, pretty soon every shot in the showcase would be edited in some way.

I'll consult the dungeon masters on this one and see if I can get a clear answer for us :)

Hey Dave,

The consensus from the basement is that the only editing allowed is the addition of a border.
Any other editing is not allowed :)

I noticed that too, Dave. That's why I couldn't give you an answer myself.
The guidelines used to state that no editing was allowed......I believe that when the guidelines were re-written to allow payware elements, the rule about editing was accidentally left out.

I will look into getting it straightened out.
