"The ugliest aircraft in the world"

"The ugliest aircraft in the world"

- far too many people to mention.

"The Fairey Gannet was a British carrier-borne anti-submarine warfare and airborne early warning aircraft of the post-Second World War era developed for the Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm by the Fairey Aviation Company. It is a mid-wing monoplane with a tricycle undercarriage and a crew of three, and double turboprop engine driving two contra-rotating propellers."

"The Gannet was very much an unsung hero; it was vital to the Navy's anti-submarine defence for several years before helicopters took over this role, but it was in the airborne early warning (AEW) role that it gained most recognition. The lack of any AEW capability after the Gannet had been prematurely retired was to prove disastrous only a few years after the last AEW Gannet was retired from RN service during the Falklands conflict..."

Last minute entry here folks!

I found the Gannet here at SimV.

The scenery is the demo from ORBX (KHQM) suggested by Daube..... ;)

The sky is provided by those wonderful HDE V2 clouds and sky, updated to work in FSX, i found those via a google search, though im sure they are probably here at SimV...

Club, to run Windows on the iMac you use a utility called bootcamp which is part of the MAC OSX to partition the hard drive and install windows.

Essentially the partition is called 'bootcamp' and on start-up the Mac boots straight into Windows. Bootcamp also installs all the required drivers and so on to run windows on the Mac as it would on a PC.... ;)

On the close time, what time and date is it in the states? I think we are ahead of you guys so it might still be the 24th over there! :D

Oh boy...  I shouldn't have asked.  I'm horrible with hardware and driver systems and all that gobbledy-gook.  I didn't understand a thing!

All I know is that it was 9:25pm here when you posted. :D

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.
