Avro 730 Mach 3 Nuclear Bomber

The Avro 730 was designed to replace the U.K's Vulcan bomber as the primary nuclear bomber however in 1957 the project was scrapped.



It truly would have been an awesome site to see!

It would have been lovely to see one but I'm kind of glad they didn't replace the Vulcan, she still holds a VERY special place in my heart.... and what is left of my hearing after being buzzed by one maxed out at less than 200ft straight over my head 8-)

I agree the Vulcan is a far prettier aircraft and a British icon.  Sadly I've only ever seen them parked up at airshows.

It's the same here really. I live 2 miles from an international airport so we just get the typical airliners flying over.
