I had similar problem with AICarriers when I tried to reinstall it after my HDD "melted" a couple of years ago.

1. Go into the folder where the FSX.cfg is located and open up the "EXE.xml" - see if AICarriers is listed.

How could the AICarriers uninstall program delete anything about your FSX ?  :-?

Anyway, the fact is that you can install AICarriers2 in the \program files(x86)\ folder without any issues. That's where my AICarriers is currently installed (Win7 64), and it runs flawlessly ;)

The EXE.xml mentionned by FoxThree is the main place to investigate. The installation of AICarriers should create, in the folder where your FSX.cfg is, a new file nammed EXE.xml. This file contains some lines (text, editable with notepad) in XML format, and this content defines what programs should be launched automatically when FSX is started. The main things to check are:
- is the EXE.xml file there ?
- does it contain any 'section' related to AICarriers ?
- there should be a "Path" line somewhere in that section. Is the path to AICarriers.exe correctly written there ?

When reinstalling AICarriers, don't forget to trigger the installation with the right-click, and choosing "run as an administrator". Also, the AICarriers.exe program will not work correctly until FSX itself is running, so don't try to double-click on AICarriers.exe after install until your FSX is running, else you'll get an error message :)

Almost all of the installation problems I have seen on various forums were all due to missing/incorrect EXE.xml file, so keep a close look to it.

I'm sooooooo @#$@#@ pissed right now, all my planes, re-paints, textures, every damn thing GONE!!! >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( Now I got to start all over and start re-installing everything from square one!!! Un@$@#$@#believable!!!!! >:( >:( >:( >:(

I've just downloaded this file to check it out. After a quick look at the contents I'm sorry to say that I have my suspicions about it. The panel.cfg has recently been updated. (It's dated Saturday, October 08, 2011.) The VC entry includes only 8 gauges.

The instructions in the Readme leave a lot to be desired & some of it is quite frankly complete nonsense. I would expect an aircraft of this quality to include a full operating manual.

I'm pretty sure this one came from Alphasim, I have two other of their payware helicopters and this one has the same trademark symbol on the thumbnail

That's the Alphasim trademark. To the best of my knowledge their MH-53 Pavelow was never released as freeware.

I must add that I haven't tried it in FSX yet.

So do you think this helicopter is a pirated version of the Alphasim one?

When you discover a fix... I would appreciate it....having no gauges sucks...but I suppose I could always pretend that my thermos of coffee spilled and shorted them out and now am forced to guess... ;)

When you have installed SP1 & Acceleration all the gauges and lil whistles on her turn on, mines did, I had no gauges either, but Acceleration fixed all that 8-)

That sucks man... but a fresh install of FSX is never a bad thing. Especially now that you have Accel to go with it. Now that you mention it... I need to consolidate and get rid of the aircraft I dont fly anymore.

Tweaking FSX can be tedious, but when you get it... You will be glad you put the time into it!
My specs... A hard drive, motherboard, graphics card, some memory, a keyboard, mouse, and monitor - in other words, nothing special.

Yeah I wanted to clean up my files anyway, just not like this, you see all this stuff on these sites like ah kid in a candy store and you just go download bananas only to find out half the stuff is crap downloads, weak instructions or instructions so freaking hard you need a degree from MIT to understand it all!!! And so many of the planes share sound files and panels you scared to delete anything only to find out now you just messed up another plane somewhere else :-? My thing is I been around FSX and this site WAY before I joined this forum so I've been through all this before with FSX so yet again I've learned yet another what NOT to do in FSX or you'll be doing the reinstall shuffle!!! ;D ;D ;D
