Well you know what Raptor, don't seem to me like people are really giving ah damn about all the fuss over this issue, over 4,000 downloads already (it hit the site Sat morning, site was down all weekend, so it's only really been available for download 1 full day) seems to me like people rushing to grab a free copy before it's gone if all these things you folks are claiming are true.........as of right now, it's still on the site and racking up the downloads! :-?

OK missed this upload - was distracted with the slightly more concerning SERVER CRASH at the weekend - which also coincided with me being away for the weekend with limited online access.

File deleted.

I had taken a look to this model and thought it was pirated too.
The thing is: this is a payware external model, which is using the virtual cockpit of the default Acceleration Merlin, which explains the missing animations/gauges/systems.
I could not remember which model it was though. So now it's clear. I had deleted this aircraft shortly after download anyway.

Well you have to think, all those people downloaded the file just as you did not knowing anything about it being pirated. I can pretty much guarantee you that maybe 3% of those that downloaded the file actually are on the forums and saw this post. So maybe to you there is not much fuss about it, but to those of us that get payware through the proper channels are quite upset about this happening. Again, dont take any of this personal to you... you downloaded a file like any other one on the site. No way for you to know. And as Pete has said... the file has been removed.

This addon, without its real virtual cockpit, is pretty much useless anyway, excepted for doing screenshots of the external model, that is.

I feel your pain Cpt. D, it is frustrating when something like this happens. And as Pete said, this came to the site, and not long afterwards the site went down. Coincidence maybe? I dunno. But his first concern was to get the site back up, and then move on from there. Sometimes these pirated packages just slip through the cracks.

As for your contest entry, I'm pretty certain they will let you re-submit an entry. Damn shame I agree... it was a nice shot!

I just found out, you need SP1 & Acceleration for everything to work on her, I bought Acceleration tonight and now everything is working right, matter fact I also found out half these addons need Acceleration to work correctly, all kinds of stuff in my list are now working, but these ding bats put this crap on this site, label it FSX and leave you stuck trying to figure out why stuff dont work, all this time if I knew getting Acceleration was the key to everything I wouldn't have had to ever ask half the dumb questions I did. SMH! :-?

You haven't waisted any money there. Acceleration brings some nice features, as well as nice aircrafts. I'm pretty sure you will love the default Merlin (it looks beautiful), and the Reno-racer Mustang has one of the nicest virtual cockpits I've ever seen, even in paywares. The default Hornet looks good as well, but it really reach it best level once you download and install the freeware extention pack nammed "Sludge Hornet 1.2".

The Reno racing feature brought by Acceleration is too hard for me, but the other features are quite nice, especially the aircraft carrier operations ! Lots of fun.

Absolutely right! Most new aircraft made are made for Acceleration/SP2. It just brings so many nice features that plain FSX does not have.

And I agree, for the default Hornet, definitely get the sludge hornet extension pack. Also look into the gear fix issue as the landing gear is extended even when on the ground. There is an update for it to sit down on the gear as it should.

Is it part of aicarriers? If so in the fsx top menu, there should be a dropdown for addons, and you should be able to select it there.

As Gtirob01 mentionned below, you will have to use a freeware tool nammed "AICarriers2". It's a cool program that you use directly in-flight through a small window similar to the ATC window, and it gives you the choice to "pop" a carrier anywhere. And once the carrier has magically appeared (no, I am NOT being sarcastic here, the carrier will really appear out of nowhere, just like the towing aircraft for your glider for example), the window will offer you various choice to guide him (forward, stop, turn left 10 degrees, turn right 90 degrees, etc....).

The Nimitz carrier group archive *might* include AICarriers, I'm not too sure about that. It is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT that you take your time to read CAREFULLY the readme included, you must be sure about what you're doing when installing the Nimitz and AICarriers, because those are some of the best freeware addons ever made for FSX. So it will be worth it.

I tried to install the aicarriers 2 software but the drop down is still not showing up, not sure what I'm doing wrong, I think I may have installed the software in a wrong folder maybe, anybody know the correct path folder I'm supposed to put it in, default path put it in my none x86 program file folder and I knew that wasn't gonna work, I'm on Windows 7 and my sim is on the x86 program files section so I moved it over and still I cant get that drop down....I read EVERTHING guys so please stop saying that to me ok :-?
