My Dassault Rafale Repainted

Now before you all out there go getting all excited about these repaints of my Rafale, these took me two hours to figure out a way to make them work SMH!
They were not intended for this beta version so after no luck in trying to edit the cfg to accept the new texture I finally took two of my five models featured in this beta and totally swapped out the guts of two texture folders with the guts from these repaint folder and wa-la I now have these two babies to enjoy!
Now if you really wanna go through all the hassle I did you can find these repaints at:

They look awesome!!  but I think I'll wait for the final version o this aircraft before I get repaints... Two hours to make repaints work seem like quite the headach

SMH = "Shaking My Head" FoxThree and yeah Pierre when the final version is ready I'll switch em out, don't like the cockpit I had to use anyway, but dont look for a final version anytime soon bud, this dude been working on this beta for 3yrs.......come on man, I dont wanna wait another 3yrs for a cockpit, working tailhook, flares and repaints :-?

Excellent! I saw and downloaded the Brazil repaint, but have yet to install it. Love that blue/grey camo, gotta get that one!

I hope your ah master at editing cfg files gtirob01 cause I never was able to edit the cfg to add these the good ole fashion way, in the end, I had to switch the folders in two of my five Refale's featured in this beta

Taking a quick look at the Brasil file, it looks like the repaint cfg. is actually the entire aircrafts cfg. I'd assume simply copying and pasting the standard texture portion over to the existing aircraft cfg would be all that is necessary. As well as putting the texture folder in the Rafale's main folder.

Just noticed in the "readme" that the standard texture portion of the cfg is there. Meaning you just add it like any other repaint.

Well I did all that, but when I tried to click on the model in my list I got a error message from FSX saying "Model failed to load" :-? At this point after tweeking and tweeking and 2 hrs of trying to get it to load into FSX I said screw it and just left everything as it was and just swapped out the guts of two of my models texture files and then it would load.... :-? :-? :-?

Can you copy the bit you added and post it here? Maybe with the entry above also? Maybe we can figure it out

Well to add a texture you usually add the texture folder to the aircraft folder, then add a new entry to the aircraft.cfg. FSX maybe different to FS9 but from what ive seen in it and done its not much different in fsx.

I've just downloaded the Brasil texture to check this out. There should be no problem providing you follow the instructions carefully.

FSX Fictional Brasil texture for Thor's Hammer" Rafale.
Create a new folder Rafale, copy the folder model, panel, sound of Rafale 3X1275Litres,
place inside the folders, aircraft.cfg, file rafalm.air and texture.Brasil.

Thanks for all the tips but I'm done screwing around with it y'all, this is only a beta base model and there are still tons of stuff that still need to be addressed on this model before I go through all this hassle again just to look at external views, I got two working repaints out da deal and I happy with that, whenever this guy finally finishes this project then I'll worry bout it then. 8-)
