Stingray Air Saint Now In DDS!!!

Postby Cpt. D. Striker Metcalf » Fri Sep 30, 2011 3:28 am

Took ah couple more classes off YouTube on how to properly layer my repaints and also the correct way to convert my file from BMP to a DDS texture file and now I can actually read the wording clear on the sides of the plane close up plus the DDS file is much better looking than my BMP version!!! 8-)

Yeah adding your logos and text on a new layer on top of the main base canvas make a BIG difference as to just putting everything flat on the main base and yes the strips are off just ah hair cause your trying to line something up that's laying flat and cut in half and sometimes many little parts that's gonna go on a 3D model and that's just not a easy as it looks, after all the hell you go through to convert your work, reuplaod the files to your FSX to just view it to check to see where it's lining up at, come on man, after ah few times of that crap you get it as close as you can and say screw it, LOL! If I was getting paid for this repaint then I would sit there and reupload it 20 times to line it up perfect but this a free joint for folks so I'm not gonna worry bout all that, this is as good as it gets for people who wanna be picky but never paid ah nickle for anything, feel me? 8-)
