Postby Cpt. D. Striker Metcalf » Thu Sep 01, 2011 9:57 pm

Well since so many enjoyed downloading the Stingray I decided to hit everybody with another set of screenshots of the original little plane before repaints start flooding the site! This set was taken at dawn in the mountains of Canada! 8-)

Put a tomcat in anything and you're almost guaranteed a top 10 8-)
Most people think that flying a plane is dangerous, except pilots because they know how easy it is.
Arguing with a pilot is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a while you begin to think the pig likes it.

I bought the DVD just the other day! Its a bit cheesey and a little daft in places.... "....what im about to tell you is classified and could cost me my career..."..and..."a 4g negative dive with a MiG 28....inverted..." when its obvious you were in no such dive!! - etc - but the opening sequence i still turn up full blast on my home cinema system and rewind to watch again...and again. Just a pity they mess up the aircraft lining up on the deck, one second its an Intruder then its a Tomcat, but hey, its damn good!

And i think its 25 years old, 1986 it came out, but filmed in '85???

The Stingray has lots of cool details I really like. :)

The Lycoming valve covers and the carbon-fiber prop are pretty awesome features on a freeware craft. 8-)

20 - 25 years old don't really matter, my point is it seems like I just watched it for the 1st time a few months ago, it doesn't seem like 20+ years have passed by........Yeah U4EA, this Stingray is becoming one of my favorite lil planes to fly, I have another sorta like it I found called the Icon, it's the same concept, looks like a jet sky with wings, even cooler cockpit but I cant get the gps on the dash to work and it can only muster maybe half the top speed of the Stingray which is another reason I like this one, she can move for a single prop! 8-)
