A new dress for E. Cantu's 737-200

Postby 9thSimplex » Sun Jan 08, 2006 7:38 pm

I just did my first ever skin (or how you FS fans call it livery ;) ) for a Boing 737 as a friend once asked me if I could do him the favor skinning a bird of the airline he is working for.

Well.. easier said than done.. Being an experienced skinner for IL2/PF i thought it should be easy to make a rather clean airliner.. well.. did not think of the livery designers of commercial airlines..   ::) Curved elements of any degree.. thin lines... AND weathering these birds is way harder imho. as they are nearly white you have to be way mroe careful. I should try a FS9 warbird the next time.

However. I made it and while doing the testflights to check if everything is lined up properly some cool screenshots could be taken :) These 2 were done after taking off from Seattle in bad weather. Just love their clarity and simple shapes. What do you think?

Shown is a generic livery of Casino Express, Elko Nevada. I also finished 2 more spectacular paintjobs on that very same plane. I chose Eric Cantu'S 737-200 as it is free. Did not touch the wings, they are as they came. No need to change these.

Enough boring words, up for the visuals now...

Glad you like it! To prove it also works in daylight:

This plane is called "king" most probably after the guy wathcin you from the rudderfin ;)

It will be available at http://www.flying-legends.net once I get those night texture done. It is frustrated.. I need a hell of try and error to place the windows in that half size night texture image on the correct position to be shown properly INSIDE the planes window fram once i turn on the light...

Add this code to your sig line, and it should work.
