Lafayette Escadrille

Postby patchz » Sun May 15, 2011 8:09 am

I've been watching Flyboys, again, and this was as close as I could find. Michel Migaud's Nieuport 17 for FS9/FSX, third one down.

The sound is aliased to the Spirit of St. Louis in FS9, so I changed the alias to Ants Tiger Moth.

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

Very cool pics! Definitely a throwback of more adventurous and perilous times in aviation... Thumbs up!

Thanks Chuck. :)

That's the squadron insignia of Lafayette Escadrille. If you have not seen Flyboys, it is well worth watching imho.

Wonderful shots Larry...well done... ;)

AWW...those were the days...
Pilots were pilots
Men were men
Women stayed in the kitchen...

Yup...I am going to stick out my chest and march in and tell the old girl I want two fingers of Scotch Whisky right now and then she is to rock my computer chair and make sounds like a Cessna 172...

Oh Larry...you got an extra bed for several days???? :-X
Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Cool shots!  And also a cool old movie by the same name.

As far as the rest of your post, allow me to quote an old southern sheriff; "You is in a heap o' trouble boy!" ;D
