Early morning in the Rockies

Postby ManuelL » Sun Feb 27, 2011 9:56 am

Hello,

took the SuperCub for an early morning stroll around the Rockies this weekend. Here are some pictures.

Liked that solitary tree on the rock face. :)

I gave CumulusX a try for mountain flying (only had used it for gliding so far). Using only the ridge lift function improved the flying experience quite a bit. At 15kts wind it gave me about 500-1000 feet per minute lift/down draft flying the Cub close to the ridge. Added some nice turbulence, too.

Thanks for looking!

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

Thanks for the comments!

I would post some more, but my phone's got no reception in the bush. ;)
