The Result of Boredom

I figured I could make a replacement water reflection texture for the taxiways/runways when it is raining, as the default texture is only sized at 256x256. This new scratch-made one is at 2048x2048!  :o Still have some tweaking to do and if I like it enough, I'll upload it.

Quite realistic. You kids with computer talent really burn me up...
I am homebrewer. I had 633 posts when for some unknown reason, my account disappeared...

@ Sir Puma: FS9 doesn't use a bump map for runway/taxiway reflections, but I'll look info what makes the shine and see if there is a way to get a similar effect.

That's not the point!  ;D I just chose it because it was easy on frame rates to just do a quick test.  :D

OK, i just checked, and there isn't a specific texture used by FS9 to create reflections, so the answer is no, this cannot be done for FS9.  :(

Excellent texture ! Indeed it looks much nicer and much more realistic than the original one !  8-)
Only thing that makes me worry is the impact on the FPS. On my previous computer, I had a small impact on the frames when it was raining, because of this reflection.
How is this new texture ?
