FSX has become a true gem & with hardware available today (Add-ons etc) MS Flight has alot to live up to.

So, you think MS flight will be a hit or miss?

..if it includes "Shadows", (Pic #1), it will be a sure-fire winner for me!... ;)... ;)...!

FS2000 to FS2004 was a big jump. Imagine what kind of an improvement in graphics we could get from FSX to Flight.

FS2000 - FS2004 = four years
FSX - Flight = four years

It's just possible it could be big. They even say in the FAQ that there will be improved terrain and scenery.

You have a very valid point.

I just believe that MS would want to penetrate their hardcore fan base and such would be very hard.

Most major FSX users allready own comprehensive scenery add-ons, GEX, FTX, Megascenery etc. so I do believe what MS is talking about w.r.t improved terain they will have to do extremely well.

At the same time, MS is popular for improving at a major FPS cost.

I still believe FSX was a sim that was released way too early since FSX nowadays only perform/look as it was intended too.

MS flight will have to be super cool & super cool (Visuals) may required 2015's hardware making FSX the preferred sim for a long while still.
